“She’s here,” Red whispered and pointed to a spot in front of them. The others looked, and caught their breath. Off in the distance stood a long figure, almost paralyzed, surrounded by what appeared to be a cloud of dust. It was Nature, trapped in a black cloud that was not natural. “This is what must have caused all of the havoc. She’s trapped!” They raced toward her, but hit a force of invisible energy in front of the dust cloud which surrounded Nature and threw them from their horses.
They picked themselves
up carefully, and Halli healed their wounds. They immediately attacked the dust
cloud with all their might. Even Halli hit it with her mace. Red set up his
meditation staffs again in hopes to reach Nature within the cloud, but she was
unresponsive. “Hit the cloud with all you’ve got!” he yelled. “We need to free
her!”
Suddenly, a ferocious
scream came from inside the cloud. Everyone stopped and stared in horror. Nature
came to life, only she didn’t resemble her true self at all.
“The dust cloud is
trying to take her over!” Red realized, horrified. “She feels our attacks! We need to stop!”
“If we stop, the dust
cloud will destroy her, and us!” Striker tried to reason.
Too concerned about
hurting Nature, Red ran toward her and forced them all to stop their attacks on
the cloud. They feared they would hit Red with their spells. But the arrows,
fireballs and frost bolts still lingered in the air on a collision course with
him.
“No!” Silvor screamed. He
ran between Red and one of his own fire balls.
A loud cry pierced
through the air when a fireball exploded. Then, a massive billow of smoke
consumed the dust cloud, Nature, Red and Silvor. Everyone else ran for cover,
and each lost sight of the others in the chaos. Another horrific cry of pain
and agony came from nearby. When they composed themselves, they saw Halli fall
to her knees on the ground. She dropped her mace and shield beside her, and
covered her face with her hands, which muffled some of her cries.
“She’s
hurt!” Kaidyla rushed to her side. But when she got to her, she didn’t see a
single mark on Halli and couldn’t figure out what caused her friend to scream. Then,
she looked in front of her. When the smoke cleared, she saw Red, Silvor and
Nature lay motionless on the ground.
During a time of celebration for The Chosen, a mysterious force appears on Phantasma, threatening to destroy Nature and all of her creatures.
Will The Chosen find and defeat this force, and save Nature before it's too late?
