Andrea, thank you so much for allowing me to visit your blog
and with your readers today! It is a pleasure to be here.
As you probably already know, my full time profession is not
writing, but law enforcement. I’ve been a sworn Law Enforcement officer for
just about 13 years now, and still love the job. When I first started, I spent all my shifts
working the street on patrol. I dealt with just about everything from animal
complaints of barking dogs to violent assaults between strangers and everything
in between.
These days I spend most of my time off the street working
investigations. I love forensics and I love puzzles, so trying to put the
pieces of crimes together to find the links and the culprits is stimulating to
me.
When I put my full time career together along with my
passion for writing I get the fictional stories that I write about. While all
my books are fiction, the details of the law enforcement side are as real as
they can be. The details as to what an officer does in the dark of the night,
or how they answer their radios. The emotions they feel as they respond to an
incident and the questions that spin through their minds as a suspect talks. I
bring those thoughts, actions and feelings to life in a very realistic way,
because I have most times, witnessed something very similar to those moments at
one time or another in my career.
In my newest book, Garda – Welcome to the Realm, Corey
Hamilton is an officer. She’s a strong
woman who is invested in her career and helps people in so many different ways.
You will see through Mitch O’Reilly’s eyes as he watches her take down a
suspect in the very beginning of the story. You’ll ride with Mitch and Corey
and they deal with a few calls. You’ll feel the emotions and witness the
intensity of a police officer’s funeral.
I love using my police knowledge to enhance a story. So many
times I have read a book where the author tries to portray the correct actions
of a police officer, only to fail and use terminology or details that are
wrong. I’m lucky that I don’t have to research these things because I have
lived them, and the few things that I have not dealt with, I know people who
have and we’ve talked.
So, if any of your readers are looking for a new book to
read, one that will make them laugh and then cry and then laugh again. One that
will make their heart beat fast and their mind to race while they try to figure
out the twist that is coming next, I hope they will check out Garda – Welcome
to the Realm.
Book Blurb:
“He is my destiny."
There is a place that lies between heaven and Earth, it is called The Realm. Within this place, the Guards of Peace, known as Garda Síochána, learn to guide and protect the ones that live below until they are called home.
